SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP, COMMUNITY AND NON-PROFIT INVOLVEMENT
As The So Cal Group continues to expand our business and our reach, our aim is to develop a spirit of Social Entrepreneurship within our management team and our organization. A social entrepreneur identifies and solves social problems on a large scale. Just as business entrepreneurs create and transform whole industries, social entrepreneurs act as the change agents for society, seizing opportunities others miss in order to improve systems, invent and disseminate new approaches and advance sustainable solutions that create social value. Unlike traditional business entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs primarily seek to generate "social value" rather than profits. And unlike the majority of non-profit organizations, their work is targeted not only towards immediate, small-scale effects, but sweeping, long-term change.
Service and giving back to community and non-profit organizations are a cornerstone of our leadership and entrepreneurial management program, and are a requirement of all managers within The So Cal Group's organization.
"The companies that survive longest are the ones that work out what they uniquely can give to the world - not just growth or money but their excellence, their respect for others, or their ability to make people happy. Some call those things a soul." -Charles Handy
